Quantum-Si, Butterfly and Accuray Advance Integrated MedTech Systems

Protein sequencing gains, robotic ultrasound, CT-guided radiosurgery and new pulmonary embolism research marked the week across the PRISM MedTech Index.
Companies across the PRISM MedTech Index reported progress this week that extends beyond standalone devices. Quantum-Si reported a substantial performance gain from its next-generation protein-sequencing platform. Butterfly Network’s ultrasound technology reached the market inside a robotic system. Accuray announced a collaboration to bring advanced volumetric imaging closer to robotic radiosurgery. In each case, the value depends on how the hardware combines with imaging, software, data or automation.
Quantum-Si Reports 30x More Peptide Alignments With Proteus
Quantum-Si (NASDAQ: QSI) presented interim data from its next-generation Proteus platform at World HUPO 2026. In a control study, Proteus generated approximately 30 times more peptide alignments per chamber than the company’s current Platinum Pro system, with a substantially lower false-discovery rate.
Quantum-Si also recently demonstrated detection of 18 amino acids using a developmental sequencing kit on the system, and the company continues to target detection of all 20 during 2026.
Butterfly’s Ultrasound-on-Chip Reaches Market Inside a Robotic System
Mendaera’s FDA-cleared Focalist robotic system is now commercially available with Ultrasound-on-Chip technology from Butterfly Network (NYSE: BFLY). It is the first Butterfly Embedded partner technology to reach the market.
The system combines handheld robotics, real-time ultrasound imaging and guidance software for image-guided needle procedures, including vascular access, nerve blocks and organ access. Butterfly’s technology has largely been associated with its own handheld devices, and embedding it in a partner’s robotic platform gives it another route to clinicians.
Accuray and Samsung Explore CT Imaging for CyberKnife
Accuray (NASDAQ: ARAY) announced a collaboration with Samsung NeuroLogica to explore adding advanced volumetric CT imaging to its CyberKnife robotic radiosurgery platform. The goal is to give clinicians more information about the tumor and surrounding anatomy when treatment decisions are made, while retaining CyberKnife’s precision treatment delivery and real-time motion management.
The companies are still evaluating technical, clinical and commercial opportunities, and no new commercial product has been announced. The collaboration reflects a broader move in radiation oncology to bring imaging and treatment closer together.
AngioDynamics Funds Research on Predicting Clot Biology
AngioDynamics (NASDAQ: ANGO) and The PERT Consortium selected Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx for an ALPHA-PE Research Fund award. The investigator-led study will examine whether information in CT pulmonary angiography can help predict the biology of blood clots, the success of thrombectomy and longer-term outcomes for pulmonary embolism patients.
The study applies the same idea from the data side: getting more out of the imaging that clinicians already collect.
