Enovix Tops Third-Quarter Revenue Guidance as Drone and Defense Pipeline Reaches $216 Million

Enovix Corporation (NASDAQ: ENVX), a developer and manufacturer of advanced lithium-ion batteries, reported preliminary third-quarter results on October 12, 2026. Preliminary, unaudited revenue came in at about $11.0 million, up 38% from a year earlier and above the company’s guidance of $9 million to $10 million. At the same time, Enovix announced a leadership realignment aimed at its drone and defense business.
Revenue Beats Guidance on Drone and Defense Demand
The quarter marked the company’s sixth consecutive period of year-over-year revenue growth. For comparison, Enovix reported second-quarter revenue of $9.0 million in August, when it guided to $9 million to $10 million for the third quarter.
Drone and defense customers accounted for about 70% of third-quarter revenue. Meanwhile, the total drone, defense and industrial pipeline grew 18% during the quarter to about $216 million, and the drone pipeline alone rose 48% to about $150 million. According to the company, sample requests are also coming from defense customers for aerial, maritime and soldier-worn applications.
“We are focusing on moving our $216 million drone, defense and industrial pipeline forward into design wins, purchase orders and shipments,” said Interim CEO Ryan Benton. He added that orders received in the first part of the fourth quarter have already exceeded total third-quarter revenue.
Korean Capacity at the Center of the Plan
Enovix makes its defense-related cells in-house at its South Korea plant, which the company says is already military qualified and has a 20-year defense production history. The company is now investing $19 million to double that plant’s capacity.
In August, Enovix said the expansion uses land and buildings it already owns and is expected to come online in mid-2027. The company also stated that its South Korea cells are 100% compliant with the U.S. Trade Agreements Act (TAA) today and on track for National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) compliance in 2027.
Enovix attributes much of the new demand to federal sourcing rules. Under the NDAA, the TAA and foreign entity of concern provisions, defense programs face growing pressure to avoid Chinese battery content. As a result, the company says its Korean production offers customers a single, auditable chain of custody.
Leadership and Costs Realigned Around Revenue
To convert that pipeline, Enovix promoted Steve Bakos to the newly created role of Chief Revenue Officer and General Manager, with full profit and loss responsibility for its global defense and commercial business. Bakos joined Enovix in May 2026 from Infineon Technologies. In addition, James Wilcox became Vice President of Corporate Strategy, overseeing NDAA and TAA sourcing compliance, and Dan Wark joined full-time to lead a new Global Supply Chain organization.
The company also placed its 147-person R&D team under COO Michael Vyvoda to focus research directly on revenue-related projects. “In addition to our revenue focus, we are now directly addressing our cost structure and profitability,” said Executive Chairman T.J. Rodgers. He said Enovix will report the first results of its cost reduction plan with its full third-quarter report on November 12.
The preliminary figures also show the company is still operating at a loss. Preliminary GAAP loss from operations was about $39.3 million, or about $29.2 million on a non-GAAP basis, compared with non-GAAP guidance of a $29 million to $32 million loss. Capital expenditures totaled about $3.0 million, below guidance of $8 million to $12 million. Enovix held about $512 million in cash and cash equivalents as of October 4, 2026, after $6.2 million in third-quarter stock repurchases. On the consumer side, the company has shipped about 17,000 production samples year to date to one of its 24 current and prospective smart eyewear customers.
