Tenable Holdings (NASDAQ: TENB) has maintained the leading worldwide market-share position in device vulnerability and exposure management for the eighth consecutive year, according to IDC’s August 2026 market-share report.

IDC said Tenable held 24.6% of the global device vulnerability and exposure management market, placing the cybersecurity company nearly $260 million ahead of its nearest competitor.

IDC Cites Tenable’s 24.6% Global Market Share Lead

Tenable said the IDC ranking reflects the company’s focus on exposure management, which helps organizations identify, validate, prioritize, and address cyber risks across their technology environments.

The company said exposure management has become more important as organizations face a growing number of complex threats and shorter response times from AI-enabled attackers.

Tenable One serves as the company’s exposure management platform. It is designed to give customers broader visibility into cyber risk, help security teams prioritize threats, and support remediation efforts.

Tenable Expands AI-Driven Cybersecurity Capabilities

Tenable attributed its market-share leadership to continued updates across its platform.

The company recently introduced autonomous, always-on capabilities through Tenable Hexa AI, its agentic AI engine within Tenable One. Tenable also expanded its Tenable One AI Exposure tools to cover major AI platforms and developer tools.

In addition, the company expanded coverage in application-security environments and extended continuous security-control and validation capabilities across its platform.

OpenAI and Anthropic Work Supports AI Security Strategy

Tenable said it continues to work with OpenAI and Anthropic as it develops AI-driven exposure management tools.

The company participates in the OpenAI Daybreak Defense Network and Anthropic’s Project Glasswing. Tenable also recently announced availability of Claude Mythos 5 within its Tenable One platform.

These efforts are intended to help organizations better understand, prioritize, and address cyber risks as AI becomes more widely used across enterprise environments.

Exposure Management Focuses on Remaining Cyber Risk

IDC said companies, boards, insurers, and regulators are shifting attention away from simply counting vulnerabilities and toward measuring how much cybersecurity risk remains.

Tenable said its platform helps customers improve visibility, use contextual risk analysis, and automate parts of the remediation process.

The IDC ranking reflects market-share performance and does not guarantee future revenue growth, customer retention, or stock performance. Tenable’s future results will depend on continued platform innovation, customer adoption, competitive conditions, and the broader demand for AI-focused cybersecurity tools.
