4DMedical Secures Over $100M to Expand U.S. Rollout of Revolutionary Respiratory Imaging Technology

4DMedical secures over $100M to expand its FDA-cleared CT:VQ™ lung imaging platform across the U.S., accelerating adoption and R&D.

4DMedical Limited (MQ7.F) (ASX: 4DX) a global leader in software-based respiratory imaging, has reached a major milestone. The company secured more than $100 million USD (approximately $150 million AUD) through an institutional placement. As a result, 4DMedical will accelerate the U.S. adoption of its CT:VQ™ platform and expand its research and development efforts. This funding further cements the company’s role as a pioneer in advanced lung imaging.

Transforming Respiratory Imaging with CT:VQ™

4DMedical Limited develops advanced cardiothoracic imaging solutions using proprietary algorithms and artificial intelligence. By extracting quantitative insights from routine clinical scans, the platform allows clinicians to assess lung function and cardiopulmonary disease with greater accuracy.

At the center of this innovation is CT:VQ™. This software-as-a-service platform delivers ventilation and perfusion data directly from standard CT scans. Importantly, the FDA-cleared solution fits seamlessly into existing clinical workflows. As a result, pulmonologists, radiologists, and multidisciplinary care teams gain access to patient-specific data that supports diagnosis, disease monitoring, treatment planning, and surgical decisions.

Since receiving FDA clearance, adoption has accelerated quickly. Leading U.S. health systems—including Stanford Health Care, Cleveland Clinic, University of Miami Health System, and UC San Diego Health—have already implemented CT:VQ™. This momentum highlights a growing demand for functional lung imaging that moves beyond structural analysis and supports personalized, longitudinal care.

A Defining Milestone for 4DMedical

Founder and CEO Andreas Fouras described the capital raise as a critical validation of the company’s strategy and technology.

“This is an extraordinarily important milestone,” Fouras said. “It reflects global recognition of our technology, the clinical value of CT:VQ™, and the scale of the U.S. opportunity. With stronger institutional backing, we can now expand adoption, accelerate R&D, strengthen partnerships, and lead the global market for software-based lung imaging.”

Looking ahead, the new funding will expand 4DMedical’s commercial footprint across U.S. academic medical centers and integrated delivery networks. In parallel, the company will invest in customer success and clinical training to drive consistent utilization. At the same time, ongoing R&D will advance new applications for functional lung imaging.

Building a Scalable Platform for Growth

Following the raise, 4DMedical reports a pro forma cash position exceeding $130 million USD (approximately $200 million AUD). This balance sheet strength positions the company to support a growing installed base and sustain long-term U.S. expansion.

In addition, the company’s SaaS model integrates easily with hospital IT and imaging systems. This design improves operational efficiency and supports rapid scaling. Strategic partnerships, including a collaboration with Philips, further strengthen 4DMedical’s ability to achieve enterprise-level adoption.

Shaping the Future of Lung Imaging

4DMedical continues to drive a shift toward functional, software-driven lung imaging. By delivering quantified cardiopulmonary insights at scale, the company is changing how clinicians diagnose, monitor, and treat respiratory disease. With proven technology, expanding clinical adoption, and strong financial backing, 4DMedical is well positioned to lead the global evolution of lung imaging in routine clinical care.
